Whether global warming is human "induced" or not, global warming is a fact. Screw mother earth but human society will be adversely affected by this so why not reduce our contribution to global warming?
Several civilizations in history have made the same mistake and suffered a catastrophic demise (as in more than 95% of their population died). Of course it wasn't global warming, but it was issues like soil eroison or deforestation that people in the past did not understand and therefore couldn't or chose not to avoid.
For the life of my I can't see why someone would think a lawsuit against automanufacters could be productive in any way. If you really want to reduce emissions why not reduce suburban sprawl and improve mass transit? I guess in that case you'd have to sue the State of California for failing to do so.
