it's decided, the state of California is retarded

- bassmangrammy - 09-20-2006

...in an unexpected turn of events, the auto makers file a lawsuit against all scientists for discovering global warming.

- mpg9999 - 09-20-2006

How about the car companys just pack up and leave, stop selling cars in california.

- ViPER1313 - 09-20-2006

That would be awesome :!:

Southern California is retarded. The northern part, especially north of Sacramento, is where its at!

- Sijray21 - 09-21-2006

haha, i read this yesterday and thought, 'hmm...i wonder if they win and automakers stop selling their cars in california'

- Maengelito - 09-21-2006

wow. its stories like these that make me think that litigation has gotten rediculous in this country. (dont hurt me jess... i might sue...)

well, time to stop breathing because i exhale harmful CO2 into the atmosphere and i better not fart anymore because methane is also a harmful greenhouse gas.

- BLINGMW - 09-21-2006

The complaint alleges that the firms' activities have harmed the state's environmental health, with California having to spend million of dollars responding to environmental threats such as coastal erosion.

better sue the oceans then while you're at it, and declare water a polutant.

my thoughts exactly.

- Kaan - 09-21-2006

And Californians should sue the state for poor planning... causing traffic... and increasing the amount of polution they take in via their lungs. NEXT!

Just let the motorcycles stay Smile

Everyone on 2-wheels in the people's republic of arnold!

- Evan - 09-21-2006

nevermind the fact that human induced global warming is not proven, and many scientists say its a hoax....

- Andy - 09-21-2006

This lawsuit seems more like a warning to the car companies to continue/advance their emission control efforts. I don't think CA actually expects this lawsuit to go anywhere.

- Evan - 09-21-2006

of course this is coming from the state whose Environmental Protection Agency had instructed scientists to destroy data they had that did not conform with policy, so we shouldnt be too surprised

- Andy - 09-21-2006

Evan Wrote:nevermind the fact that human induced global warming is not proven, and many scientists say its a hoax....
OT:
Hey Evan,

Whether global warming is human "induced" or not, global warming is a fact. Screw mother earth but human society will be adversely affected by this so why not reduce our contribution to global warming?

- Kaan - 09-21-2006

i dont beleive in global warming... at least not like the modern day thinkers do. the extreem cooling and heating of the earth happens over hundreds of thousands of years... with historical "hot" spots.

and yes the "ozone" layer is healing itself... "faster" than scientists anticipated... maybe becasue they are wrong in their theory. Wink

plus Al Gore said he invented the interweb in that same speech... can you really beleive that guy?

That's the way I look at it. Our scientific understanding of climate is not complete enough for us to have all the answers but that doesn't mean we should go full steam ahead with business as usual into oblivion.

Several civilizations in history have made the same mistake and suffered a catastrophic demise (as in more than 95% of their population died). Of course it wasn't global warming, but it was issues like soil eroison or deforestation that people in the past did not understand and therefore couldn't or chose not to avoid.

For the life of my I can't see why someone would think a lawsuit against automanufacters could be productive in any way. If you really want to reduce emissions why not reduce suburban sprawl and improve mass transit? I guess in that case you'd have to sue the State of California for failing to do so.

Or, more better, how about taking the money spent on such retarded lawsuits and giving it to, oh, I don't know, a city planning commission that doesnt' consist of mental deficients?

- Beej - 09-21-2006

No worries about Global Warming. Richard Branson has it covered.
