Im not sure why, but Ive wanted a Swift GT(i) for a while
You could do worse than that one. The 1.3's are closed deck, and it's a super common thing to turbcharge them. Your largest problem is going to be lack of an LSD.
What I would probably do if I were going to build a Swift is take the 1.6 Tracker block, turbocharge that, and put it into a Swift. Either that or the 1.3 SOHC 16V Swift motor for turbocharging. The 1.3DOHC is just too rare for my tastes, if I can't get a whole car for 200 bucks I really don't want it. But! If you *DO* get a swift, you've got Disc rear brakes AND 4th Gen Honda Prelude brakes bolt on with no issues, save that you might have to get larger wheels. Furthermore, if 4th gen Prelude brakes bolt on, then the NSX/Legend brakes ought to bolt on as well, for an enormous 2 piston sliding braking system. I mean, Prelude brakes are frickin HUGE for that car, plus the relative availability of parts and nice pads make it a no brainer.
I'd love to see an MMer with a Swift. Hell, I wish it could be Me, but I don't have the patience to seek out what I'd really want.
Also, Metros & Swifts are not that bad. I drove one forever (MOOR MPG) and I've still got it, just need to replace a burnt valve. My biggest complaint about the whole car was a window that went off track. Whoopdie do, happens to all kinds of cars. HUGE engine bay, easy to work on.
Sorry, little MetroSwift rant.
