Suzuki Swift Turbo on eBay - PDenbigh - 08-31-2006 Seems like the type of car a lot of MM might find interesting: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Suzuki-S ... enameZWDVW quote: " This is a 89 gti turbo with NO RUST is pretty fast a lot of money and time went in this sweet gti,14 inch rims, jvc cd player, stage 3 turbo, front mount intercooler, boost, pyrometer, oil, water temp gauges shift lite. The pictures say it all. got to sell it cause im moving and cant have more than 2 cars. " - Andy - 08-31-2006 Why hasn't Rex bought this yet? - white_2kgt - 08-31-2006 The Swift was always my car of choice for a GRM car, they are light as fock! BUt its got a face only a mother could love. - CaptainHenreh - 08-31-2006 Andy Wrote:Why hasn't Rex bought this yet? As much as I'd love to have it, it's 4 grand and in south carolina. If those two variables were different, maybe dad and I would go get it. While the 16V DOHC 1.3 is a cool little motor, what I'd much rather do is turbocharge the three banger. Gonna do it some day, make a kick ass little autocrosser. Lord knows I've got enough shells. - BLAIR - 09-01-2006 swift gti's are the SHIT - Evan - 09-01-2006 I want it. I really want it. Im not sure why, but Ive wanted a Swift GT(i) for a while - CaptainHenreh - 09-01-2006 Evan Wrote:I want it. I really want it. You could do worse than that one. The 1.3's are closed deck, and it's a super common thing to turbcharge them. Your largest problem is going to be lack of an LSD. What I would probably do if I were going to build a Swift is take the 1.6 Tracker block, turbocharge that, and put it into a Swift. Either that or the 1.3 SOHC 16V Swift motor for turbocharging. The 1.3DOHC is just too rare for my tastes, if I can't get a whole car for 200 bucks I really don't want it. But! If you *DO* get a swift, you've got Disc rear brakes AND 4th Gen Honda Prelude brakes bolt on with no issues, save that you might have to get larger wheels. Furthermore, if 4th gen Prelude brakes bolt on, then the NSX/Legend brakes ought to bolt on as well, for an enormous 2 piston sliding braking system. I mean, Prelude brakes are frickin HUGE for that car, plus the relative availability of parts and nice pads make it a no brainer. I'd love to see an MMer with a Swift. Hell, I wish it could be Me, but I don't have the patience to seek out what I'd really want. Also, Metros & Swifts are not that bad. I drove one forever (MOOR MPG) and I've still got it, just need to replace a burnt valve. My biggest complaint about the whole car was a window that went off track. Whoopdie do, happens to all kinds of cars. HUGE engine bay, easy to work on. Sorry, little MetroSwift rant. |
