Saying "oh I don't care anymore i'll just bring friends to fill up the party" doesn't inspire the need to support your MM wishes. I really hope some of us come to the Chili event and othersOther than the one against whoever in their ultimate wisdom decided to create a forum that blocks a specific group of members from posting in it I hold no grudges. My comment about filling this party with friends outside of MM was meant to say that just because the students show no interest doesn't mean the party will suffer, there will still be plenty of people there for the fun. I have the same opinion about the current students that I do about any of my friends outside of MM, I'll tell you about something, but I'm sure as hell not going to poke and prod you to try and get you to come to it, if you want to come you come, if you don't want to don't there's plenty of others who will jump at the chance.
I support the idea of a campus events forum, it allows for quick and easy viewing of what's going on at JMU, but I don't support the exclusion of any members. By doing so you're just adding to the already building gap between current students and alumni.
The events we plan in NoVA never have been something that current students can't come to. Just as you pointed out about your scenic drive where a lot of alumni didn't make it, there are things that come up and circumstances that prevent some members from participating in planned events. I can't think of any event that has ever been planned in the history of MM where specifiic members weren't able to come. By preventing non students from posting in that forum you are in fact telling us that we aren't welcome at those events.
