Sharing is caring/Alumni-Current student relations
Ryan T Wrote:I don't feel MM is divided. We are merely trying new things. We are giving the harrisonburg section a try, as many students have requested it, and if it works it works, if it doesn't we'll nix it. It's nothing for anyone to get their panties in a wad or anything. If it proves a failure, we'll nix it and call it a learning experience.

you know pete lives and works in harrisonburg, but as far as i know, hes not allowed to post in that section. i'm not hurt that i cant post in it, but to me it sends a clear signal that non-students arent welcome to comment on anything in that forum. i just have no idea how it was originally conceived as a solution to bring students and non-students together by keeping them apart.

Quote:I also don't think our actual attendance at the track has gone down. The number of people that go relative to our member base has gone down, but the number of people attending has been fairly steady.

Another thing I haven't been fully able to grasp is why everyone is upset that 110% of our membership isn't going to every track event. Simply because everyone does not come out does not mean MM is turning into a ricer car club like those other evil schools. We simply have a more diverse member base. As long as the members are passionate about cars and understand that MM's focus is on motorsports, they are more than welcome to be members whether they spend their weekends at the track or not.

this past weekend we had 12 registered according to the thread about summit, but had 17 because alison, jess c, rex, julie and navin were there. 0 were students.

VIR-N last month had 15 registered on that thread and DJ was the only student i saw there.

yes, we still have that core of people that go to the track, so the numbers are there, but the current students are not showing up which is what this whole issue is dealing with. just my observation.
