This ride will be at least 150 miles - I have not calculated the route distance - plan accordingly.
IN!:
RJ
Andrew
Apoc
Ross
Edwin (from H-T)
*Meet at the haymarket Sheetz at 10:30 am, to fill up with gas, snacks, etc.
*Forecast is for temps in the high 80's.
*Andrew says there is a good restaurant on 211 just outside shenandoah national park, so we can stop there for lunch.
*Assuming the roads are in good shape, we'll ride 'the pace' for most of the ride. Faster than a sunday cruise to church, slower than "burn the michelin man off your pilot powers"
*Make sure you have enough gas to make it to haymarket
*Bring water, cash, etc....
*I will be in full leather (disclaimer)
*Print/Write down the route and put it on your tank
*When we go through shenandoah park on 211 we'll all be riding the speed limit - no excuses. The locals and cops do not want bikers up there using 211 as their own personal kneepuck testing ground. I've read that there are rumble strips at the entry to a lot of the turns now and the cops will be out on weekends pulling people over for whatever they can. Make sure your inspection, insurance, registration is up to date (*cough* andrew *cough*).
