Yes, I know it is good - I used it on another car tonight also.
ViPER1313 Wrote:Did you open the throttle?
Yes, and killed the fuel injectors - sometimes i know what i'm doing

ViPER1313 Wrote:I think it's weird that all the cylinders would have dropped compression so evenly.
Why? Unless something broke, they all wear out the same.
ViPER1313 Wrote:No stock, non-boosted motor (especially from Honda) should drop 20psi in all cylinders after a season of events (at least in my line of thinking). I thought those engines were bulletproof.....
You should ride with me on track sometime.
Track use is very hard on everything - and i'm harder on this motor than I've ever been on one. Stock power drops off by 6800 rpm, with a stock fuel cut of 7100 - i'm shifting at 7600-7700 rpm. And besides, it is "bulletproof" in that it hasnt blown up. I could probably put it in a street car and it woul go another 100k.
ViPER1313 Wrote:Not true race conditions, but stressful on the motor nonetheless. The SHO still had honing marks on the cylinder walls at 135k miles.
No, its not even close. Short bursts of accelleration are way different than 20 minutes of 7000+ rpm in 90+ degree heat.
I'm sure I will still have the factory hone marks on the bores, but that doesnt mean the rings havent given up the ghost and the valve seals are seeping.
