On another note, I had a long chat with corey about my engine tonight. I've got a pretty long layover after the shenandoah race, until the june 10-11 race at Beaverun, so I think after this next weekend its coming out of the car, and on the engine stand.
Its blowing oil, and he is pretty sure that its way down on power, as I was even with him down the back straight at VIR in a 250,000+ mile 94 accord.
My original plan was to open 'er up, throw new bearings, oil pump and rings in it with a cheap hone job, valve job and valve seals and be done with it - but it looks like i'll just do it right with some new oversize pistons, new valves, balance, arp rod bolts, etc and take my time with it - even if I dont touch the head other than putting seals in it, I can always prep that later. Having a bottom end with rod bolts that arent going to launch into another zip code and rings that seal properly is going to be a big difference.
