MM Racer Season 1 REMIX
#10
Geeser II

After Geeser I got stolen I got an email from a guy looking to sell his partially prepper for ITS GS-R for a good price. I figured it was the deal I was waiting for and kept in touch.

So I decided it was time to purchase the Camel Tow Vehicle. I landed on a 2000 4wd Chevy Silverado for $8k, figured it would last awhile since domestic trucks are usually durable. WRONG. First morning I get in it to go to work it wouldn't start, had to have it flat-bedded to the dealership. They couldn't reproduce the problem so I took it back. 1 week later to the day the power steering cuts out while I'm going around a turn and I nearly hit a guard rail. Turns out the engine had died. It died two more times on my way back home. So I said f this and took it back to the dealership and traded it in for a 2000 Tundra. Got a fairly good deal on it and its a much nicer truck.

So today I went and picked up the GS-R. Its a black 96 with a bolt-in cage, tokico illumina shocks, 350/450 lbs springs, intake/header/exhaust, Sparco seat, and a few other safety items. Today we did the annual tech inspection in NJ so its mostly ready to go for my first race which is next Friday at VIR (May 7, 8, 9). I have to wire up my transponder, put on new rear rotors, strip more of the interior out, and give her an oil change before then.

I've already got a set of Team Dynamics wheels and I'll probably pick up another set in the next few weeks. The most immediate next step will be hardcore full race shocks and a couple of different springs to experiment with as well as a rear sway bar. I may try to get a lsd in there before the end of this season too.

That is all for now, I've gotta go to work tomorrow.
