I didnt realize this about subaru engines....
When Subaru's were not popular on these shores we were trying to extract big hp out of the 2.5L impreza blocks. We soon realized that the stock block would not cut it, stock blocks splitting caused imminent and catastrophic failures in many of our early test motors. We soon developed our very own sleeve to be used on all of the Subaru EJ engines. We have built EJ20 and EJ25 engines that have stood up to over 600hp in street cars, these are the same engines we offer to you.
