Well the cage is sort of a critical thing to have 'right' so I'd think you would trust the welding to someone that's been doing it for a while. I'm just paranoid about safety stuff sometimes.

I got "certified" in Arc, Mig, and Oxy welding while I was in HS. We're going to warm up on some flat pieces before hitting the tubes. I've used a TIG once and it wasn't terrible. From what I understnad we only have to cut throgh the body in a couple of places to get the 360 degree welds.
