thanks for the article! Yup, sounds like "hull speed" doesn't really apply to a boat like this, or like those jet boats pictured above. Once they lift out of the water, "hull speed" no longer applies. Ok, a second of searching pretty much answered my question....
These do 9 sec quarter miles.... (with some choppy videos)
