Just got back from Karting with my company.

What it all boils down to is that karting is really there for honing your driving skills and competing with people on a level playing field (or as level as we can make it), not about how fast you can go.

A racing that's not all about how fast you can go? Sounds a lot like drifting to me!

IMO Drifting is to Racing as Synchronized Swimming is Swimming.

Don't get me wrong, speed is always a factor in any form of racing. When you're in a kart that's built exactly the same as the 8 other karts out there with you it becomes more about how well you drive not how fast you drive.
