The way I saw it, if I had to brake more than I normally would in every single turn to avoid hitting the guy in front of me, I deserved a blue flag. I bet I seriously could have cut a whole second off of some of my lap times if I didn't have anyone in front of me.
As far as passing went on that track, yeah it was pretty much impossible unless the guy in front of you spun out or wasn't purposely boxing you out. I'd try to swing out wider on some turns to get around a guy, but then he'd cut you off at the inside of the next turn. The "wedge" shape of those things fuckin sucks too, it really seemed to prevent you from making inside passes during the few opportunities you had to do it.
I think you're right, I needed something faster and on a larger/more realistic scale.
