They're easier to work on, but honestly you're wasting your time... you'll spend more time/$$ converting to discs than changing the rear shoes 2 or 3 times (if that).
I sure as hell hate the springloaded jigsaw puzzle drum brakes too, but from a $$ standpoint it doesnt make sense to toss them.
