I dont really see how anybody could justify anger at the drivers/teams themselves. If safety is ever in question on the track, there should be no hesitation in stopping/cancelling a race.
To me most of the blame goes on Michelin. What a POS job done by them to have tires suitable for the track.
Aside: Did anybody read the article about the guy who finished third (and placed for the first time ever). I actually kind of felt good for the guy. Despite being sad about the dropout, he was geniuinly happy at getting 3rd lol.
