I actually liked turning 40, as it meant my age was catching up with my general physical lack-of-fitness. 
I am most definitely not looking to assume debt right now. Maintaining consistent employment and no debt other than my mortgage is my priority. Everything will recover, but the next two years are going to be pretty turrible for the global economy. Layoffs will come to corporate jobs.
