i think the handling is very, very deliberately oversafe. their target market would never be able to put a mid engined V8 car on the edge of its traction envelope if it was tuned aggressively. 95% of these cars will never put any shoulder wear on the tires anyway.

i'd bet good money the performance variants will be much more aggressive. the corvette team has always had some very capable engineers and they know what's riding on a corvette this radical from past iterations if they don't deliver.
