They just swapped the one month from a Fire stick to a Roku stick. I just got in on it this morning before my trial was up. If you do the free offer only sign up for the lowest level package and prepay for that for 3 months. So you are only paying $105 for the Apple TV vs $120 for the next package and so on.
If you prefer Roku, I'd do the stick and put it on your secondary TV. You'll want a Roku Premiere or Premiere + on your main TV.
Hopefully I can kill the Roku all together soon, just waiting on them to release the Android TV app that's in BETA right now.
The NOW interface is very user friendly.
I was concerned that you can only use 2 streams at once, but since you can use the network apps and your NOW log in, it doesn't really matter.
