So I finally called up the ducktail dealer and it looks like it's a straight swap with the stock hinges and latch. I mistakenly thought it would require a custom retrofit or tie downs; neither of those things appealed to me. I'm going to call up the shop in the next few days and see what their schedule looks like. They say they have a paint shop that can match the car exactly, so I'm likely to ship it direct to the shop and then drop the car off. I think all-in, this modification will run close to $2,000. The most annoying part is $250 for shipping. 
I'm also going to order the rocker panel graphics while I'm at it.
This isn't happening at this point, but I was looking at CIBIEs again. It's hard to find decent examples of installs with the short hood and the impact bumpers. I finally found the two pictures below that show two different mounting locations. I'm not interested in a light pod, so it's either hood or fender mount. I'm generally partial to the fender mount, but a lot of that is because I'm skittish about drilling holes in the hood (velcro and tape??). What does the peanut gallery think?
