I backburnered this project because there was a big pretty change in our lives that didn't pan out. I'm headed in to talk to the shop owner after New Year's and I sent him this video that RJ was kind enough to share with me.
Ducktail and bumpers are the first order of business. The tail looks easy enough, but I think the bumpers are going to require more work. Wheels and tires will probably come next as I'm not a fan of the tall tires on there now. They're period correct, but there's too much flex/float in them. I'd like to go wider, but I'm not sure the fenders will allow for it... and I don't want to start shopping fenders. Lights will probably be last, although I think having four is overkill. I'll probably look into adding two in a such a way to downplay it as much as possible, but still looks badass.
I'm not interested in the sponsor decals, but hood stripe(s) could be cool if they're way more subtle than this. I've always liked the porsche badging on the rocker panels, so I'd probably do that if I'm jumping into the world of vinyl.
I think I'm going to try and get the car ready for a few events this year. I have no idea what, as I want to do things my kid can go to, but I'm guessing it's going to show me I want to do suspension too. Something on dirt like this would be cool... but, yeah.
I had a really good year with RSUs, so I think I'm ready to throw some money at this thing. I originally thought I wanted to preserve as-is, but it's already a bastard of a car with mix/matched parts from various models. I also had some family pressures that impacted my desire do anything; those are gone. I need to just spend the money to get it over the finish line of what I want it to be.
