Daynight Diver is sold, had some bites on the Steinhart but expect that to be sold within the next week or so
The wife and I were up in Asheville this weekend at a local watch shop that happens to be a Seiko dealer. I got my hands on the SRP775 that I was debating on as a second project in the interim before the GMT Master and it was bigger than expected and the gold didn't pop like I expected. I wasn't as wowed by it in person as I was by the idea of it from pictures so I'm really glad I got the chance to do so. It's a nice watch but it's definitely not worth sidelining my grail goal for. So I'm firmly in the "save for my grail" camp now
Side note: I also got the chance to handle a preowned Grand Seiko spring drive. While the decorated movement was really beautiful, overall the watch was really not impressive to me at that price point. I should probably withhold judgment until I get my hands on another model but my initial impressions are that GS pieces are way overhyped by Seiko fanboys (I consider myself one of them) and are absolutely not worth paying Rolex money for.
