If you have electric appliances I would find it strange that you have a gas hot water heater or gas furnace but you obviously do since you have a gas bill. It will suck to call the gas company but it will be worth it if you find out the meter is incorrect or they are over charging you.
That's odd that your rent is due on different dates. When we lived in our apartment it was the same date every month.
As far as work goes I'm interested to see what everyone says. My job is unique in that in go in at 7:30 and I leave exactly at 4 about 90% of the time. I stay late here and there when I need to because I can control my paycheck so I stay late when it pays too. I also only take a half hour lunch so I can leave earlier.
