Cost is irrelevant because a lot of us don't pay a dime to fly for business. It's more about quality of life when you spend as much time on airplanes as some of us do. And you're definitely allowed to complain when you make the next to highest level of status on segments and not on long distance flights. Any momo can take a Lufthansa or British Airways across the pond and rack up tons of miles in planes built for longer distance travel (extra leg room, fully reclining seats, business class suites, etc.). True OGs sweat it out with the peasants on commuter routes. I do thank Jesus every time I get a free first class upgrade though (which happens less since the mergers).
Definitely +1 on the TSA Precheck. Best money I've ever spent, especially when it helps me skip 2+ hour lines at O'Hare....although so many people have it now sometimes the Precheck line is just as long at some airports.
