So like, you *could* switch the view to full screen on your 16:9 TV if the black bars bother you. Since most movies are filmed wider than that, either they cut off the sides for you ("this film was formatted to fit your screen") or you do it by switching to full screen. :dunno: Content is lost either way, which is likely not a real issue.
Now personally I wish 21:9 TVs would sell better, so they'd be cheaper, so I could buy one, cause I think they're cool. So there. But it doesn't seem to be happening.
