Home warranty companies. Our realtor gave us a 1 year home warranty when we bought our house. Very nice!. It's getting ready to expire at the end of December and we have been having some heating issues so I give the warranty company a call. They send out an HVAC company, I pay the deductible, and they diagnose a small flange leak and next to no freon on the unit. Sweet. They need to get authorization from the warranty company and leave. I get a call 2 days later denying the claim because the connection of the line to the unit is not covered. Awesome.

Home Warranty is a scam unless you like really low-grade shit. Most real-estate agents include them nowadays as an assurance. I never used mine, but had buddies try to use them and they either wanted to repair (cheap repairs), or was a hell of a time getting it replaced and was some junk. Definitely not worth it.
