In 2015 pretty much all major retailers will convert to chip readers, and you will probably have a chip card issued by your bank or CC company.
Most Visa/MC point of sale terminals must be updated by october or else fraud liability falls on the merchant not the issuer. I think atms and gas pumps are by 2017.
