"home false sense of security" :P

Cary on.

Evan Wrote:I have 2 HD foscams , 2 SD foscams , and 4 Dlink SD cameras.

I like the Dlinks the best by far. They have great zero config cloud integration that doesnt require port forwarding, so remote viewing is much easier. they also come up in the viewer instantly.

The HD foscams are sharper, and have 2 way audio, so they make for good babycams, but are much slower and laggy to come up, and a pain in the dick to set for remote viewing.

I havent even bothered to hook up any of the foscams at my new place.

when my new zigbee/zwave box gets here, Im going to set up some automated video record actions when someone comes home, knocks on door, etc.

navin Wrote:There is also "DropCam" version of cameras -- seems pretty user friendly, but kind of sucks you have to pay for the cloud back-up for backing up video.

I need to do some more research, but I want something like the Drop-Cam, but with the ability to back to my Network attached storage.

ps. Be sure to lock down your FosCam's, lots of security vulnerabilities out there for it.

edit -- specifically looking for an outdoor camera.
