Forgive me guys, for I have sinned.
I went and test drove a Macan S last weekend and fucking loved it. About as fast as my Cayman in a straight line, the DCT was flawless, interior was great, really not much to dislike. Handling-wise it felt fairly nimble but you still a bit of roll because ultimately it's still a boat. A speedboat, but a boat nonetheless. Tows 5000 lbs, rear seat legroom and headroom is good but might not accomodate someone much over 6'2".
Other thing I didn't like is the rear roof line is pretty aggressive and it eats up some cargo room. Minor quibble I guess.
Wifey wants a SUV at some point in the not too distance future and this would probably be the funnest option in that size range (she doesn't want a bigger SUV like a MDX or X5...M). It's too expensive to really make sense for now but I'd love to snatch one of these up used in a few years.
I still feel wrong for liking these ridiculous things but ultimately I think I'd rather have a cheaper SUV and a nicer sedan so I'd have a hard time buying one unless I could still have my uber sedan.
