Glazed Clutch??

SlimKlim Wrote:I think the newer and lower mileage the car is, the more fair their offer is likely to be. If the carfax has even a small altercation on it they'll lowball the shit out of you. They only offered me $10k for my GTI because the front fender got whacked and was repaired at the dealer. The rear bumper got whacked and was repaired poorly, but because it wasn't on the carfax no one noticed that one. It's worth taking the car over there and spending 30 minutes to get a formal quote on it. I think they give you a printed offer that's good for 7 days.

And yeah, it's definitely a balancing act. I've spent SO MUCH TIME just waiting around to fix things on the BMW because I bought the GTI and did a pretty major tune up on it last year. If I had the self control and humility to daily a $2500 shitbox Honda I would've long since reached my goals on the BMW. C'est la vie.

I think the GTI would be a good move for ya. I'm sure the payment will be a fraction of what you're spending on the Evo. I'd just set the money you save aside for a few months to cover any potential issues with the DSG or motor, and then you won't have to worry about anything. I'm sure the gas and insurance costs will be much easier to swallow too.

Just realized the closest one is fairly far, see if i'll go there or just try a dealer around here.

Yeah GTI makes sense, not a huge fan of it but it will suit my needs perfectly for now. Great part is my brother had the sense to get an extended warranty Big Grin
