Miata as first car? Suggestions?

So, what did everyone else with two cars do? Leave one at home?

Yes I only have one car at school and it's almost never the fun one.

If you are going to put your miata on vir, it'll need at bare minimum a roll bar which means you're already looking at mods before you buy. Just something to think about. And Yes, I know many will come with roll bars but It could not and then it would be another cost.

My earlier post may have seemed like I'm saying don't do it, and shit I may have even said it. It was late and im forgetful. I'm not, I'm saying think about it really hard. I wish I would have left my truck stock in high school. And I wish i would have bought one nice reliable car or one driveable project car while in college and slowly fixed it up/modded it. Having some extra spending money is a great feeling. Living paycheck to paycheck or in my case paycheck to about 5 days before paycheck really sucks because you basically sit there for those five days and try not to think because it may put you in the red. Having more than one car at school is a very fast way to get yourself there if your not careful.

No, you're saying exactly what I need to hear. I don't want to get too excited and make a dumb decision. I don't plan on this Miata being a "project car" right away. I just want something to drive that's more fun than a truck. I'm sure I'll mod it, but I don't think I'll be forced to mod it.

Hopefully I can average $300 a week for the 15 weeks we have off, I can make over 4000 over the summer. Of course, I'll have expenses, but I should be able to stash away some and work out my budget from there.

I don't even have the money yet, so I have time to think it over.
