I just changed out the whole pump on my jeep, 6-7 months ago. Installing the whole unit wasnt nearly as bad.
The pulleys aren't metal they are some sort of polymer, and the reservoir is super birttle due to the heat the engine puts off. So you are just better off installing the unit as a whole, and returning the pump for the core charge.
