Supposedly the engine itself is stout, but some of the other stuff can be a problem (water pump, suspension, coil packs). Then some of the regular maintenance is expensive but I think that's only expensive when people take the car to a Porsche dealership that charges out the ass for labor. With just a cursory look on some forums people are saying a brake job is $1000 per axle including labor. Checking the parts cost for the turbo, it's about $600 for pads and rotors on the front, and maybe $400 for the rear. I'm pretty sure any of us can do that job ourselves, so that's $1000 saved right there.
