Though as I said, since Subaru was doing the engineering, I am not really surprised. I don't think they've ever done a production wishbone front suspension.
Not that im saying an inboard suspension isnt better, but the corvette composite transverse leaf spring suspension is actually a decent design that reduces unsprung weight, and allows decent suspension geometry. However, packaging constraints is the large reason its not used in other production vehicles. Also due to the design, the "spring" actually acts as an anti-roll bar itself, pretty cool if you ask me.
That said, why not go to an inboard suspension after all that work?
