under 200 is not acceptable
Name one other coupe that weighs under 3000 lbs and has more than 200 hp. Only things I can think of are the Cayman and the Exige S, both of which are much, much more expensive. This has the same horsepower as the Civic Si, but is about 200 lbs lighter and is RWD. Seems like a pretty good deal to me :dunno:

with the ease at which people get numbers out of a K series... honda can easily up the power in the Si. rumor is they will. but thats always the rumor.
I think you will be sorely disappointed with the Si for the foreseeable future. Honda is pushing up the Minor Model Change for the Civic but that is to address complaints about the interior and the NVH, nothing to do with the Si. The Si has a seriously gimped version of the K24 (integrated exhaust manifold, no exhaust VTEC) so the only way they could give it a power bump is by putting a different engine in there altogether. Right now, there aren't any K-Series with exhaust-VTEC or a regular exhaust manifold in the entire Honda lineup.

Not to say it's impossible, but chances are the Civic Si is not going to get any better in this generation. Even if it does, it'll probably still be heavier than the FT86/BRZ and it's still FWD.
