$20k would be a feat, $25k is reasonable and sounds about right. sure beats $33k for a 1 series.
2700 lbs would be an accomplishment, but Im betting it will be 2800-2900. Im ok with that.

$20-25K... just make it simple. but thats not possible anymore. everything must have navigation, leather seats, 12 speaker sound system, 20 inch wheels from the factory (to fit tiny "track" brakes), they love back seats, cup holders, computer controled everything, etc.
i guess there is no real market for a pure "basic" sports car. it doesnt even need to have HP from the factory, just some potential. and who cares about safety raitings?
