MM Muscle - 1971 Dodge Challenger
Offset..the distance the hub mounting surface is to the centerline of the wheel.

+ closer to the outside
- closer to the inside

Backspacing..the distance from the wheel mounting surface to the inner lip of the wheel

To get the look, and push the wheel out further to the fender you'll need a wheel with a negative offset like -30 or something or a lower - offset with some 5-10mm spacers.

For instance, on the gsx it came with 17x7/7.5 don't remember with a like +35 offset or something.

Since I don't have alot of fender to push out the wheel into I had to push the tire closer to the inside, so + offset.

17x8 are +35mm and sit close to flush with the outside of the fender with room. 17x9 w/ +38 mm sit flush with the fender and give me the max wheel I can fit, with like 2mm of space before it hits the suspension

Your car is basically the opposite from what I can tell.
Very little room on the inside of the wheel well, and a crap ton of room under the fender
