Yes, this is definitely the correct thing to do. So why didn't I do it, especially considering the age and mileage of the car? A few reasons, none of them good: Test drive was incredibly strong, idle was smooth, no strange exhaust colors, getting to the rear plugs requires an act of Congress and several months of labor.... So was it a bonehead thing to not check, and was I blinded by the boost? Yes. A thousand times yes. And if the compression test turns out poorly, you can say "i told you so", and I'll come out a few grand ahead after parting it out...
