What I don't understand about the whole "Obama is gonna raise taxes" thing is how people expect us to pay for all these expensive messes we've gotten ourselves into. Almost a trillion dollars spent on Iraq? Lower taxes. 10 trillion dollar deficit? Lower taxes. $700 billion bank bailout? Lower taxes. Then people wonder why the American dollar is worth less than toilet paper.
The funny thing about Obama's tax raise for people making over $250k a year is that it simply returns to the tax rate to what it was for those people under Reagan. So I guess we're really saying Reagan was a bad president.
At any rate, foolishly borrowing money is what brought us this economic crisis in the first place. How is lowering taxes and not lowering spending going to get us a different result?
And speaking of the economic crisis, it's funny that now the McCain ticket is saying Wall St. needs more regulation when McCain has historically been fighting for deregulation. But maybe that means he's capable of learning and changing his views which the current president has been slow to do.
