We've been karting for awhile, and now there is more than a handful of MM members who are pretty quick. For that reason I've been thinking that we should try to put together an event at an outdoor kart track that rents out faster karts.
Englishtown Raceway in New Jersey has a parking lot kart track that they hold open practices on. They also rent out several different karts up to a 125 cc shifter.
I'm thinking maybe we could do a karting track day with a 100 cc direct drive kart and split the track time up among a couple of different guys. The 100 cc kart has about 26 hp so it's going to be lot more fun and challenging to drive. For the whole day (6 hours of track time) it costs $275.
We could split the time up in 15 minute sessions:
4 people - 1.5 hrs each ($68.75)
6 people - 1 hr each ($45.83)
8 people - 45 minutes each ($34.75)
A 6 person split would probably what I'd go for. These karts are probably going to be a lot more physically demanding than the ones we've been driving so 1.5 hours per person might be pushing it.
