A car WILL stop more quickly in snow with all 4 wheels locked than a car with ABS and the brakes fully applied. This is due to the fact that snow piles in front of the skidding tire as the car slows. However, you are a lot more likely to go sideways when you brake without ABS and lose control of the car. I prefer ABS in the snow but I assume its a matter of preference like anything else.
On a more personal note, 2 hour commute this morning to go 30 miles - the Rabbit is pretty sweet in the snow. Traction control FTW!
