Did you read the rest of the article? Some areas/wildlife have NOT recovered and hundreds of millions $$ spent on cleanup and lost in fishing, revenue, etc. Dont have to be a hippie, just have some personal responsibility.

I'm not responding to any more Deersty postings, it gives me a fucking headache.

I'm not talking about money here. They would've been just as well off giving that cleanup money to the fishermen. The HIGHEST number I've ever seen for the amount they actually cleaned up was like 11 - 14%, most people estimate lower. Now - if nature can take care of the other 9,700,000 gallons in a relatively short amount of time, i'm sure it could handle another 2 million. Let the fishermen live off the 'clean up' money for a while.

Shit happens. Ship's wreck, and people and goods NEED to get places, let's try not to worry about the 'what ifs' of pollution, when, ultimately people are the ones that matter.
