Chris and I use Suncom with basic Nokia phones. 1500 minutes for Chris for $95 a month and includes all of the East Coast. Service is good except for at the tracks!! We purchased an antenna from Radio Shack for about $35 about 2 NASA events ago and now we get service at all the tracks and pretty much everywhere but you of course have to use the phone in the car.
We have never had a problem with our Nokia phones except having to get a new battery and these are the free phones that came with the plan 4-5 years ago.
