There's PLENTY of water in an exhaust system. Just watch your tail pipe on a cold day. If you drive short distances and shut off the car you exhaust will rust from the inside out very quickly. You are not giving the engine time enough to heat up and burn out the water. Plus in the cold as the pipe cools down condenstation forms in and around the pipe (expecially around the clamp) trapping it in there.

Now w/ the new Superdutys' this isn't a problem, as on occassion they have the EEC programmed to spit out 1500* (yes, Fifteen Hundred Degree) exhaust gasses Confusedhock:
