Personally I think the clamped one will rust faster, but I have nothing to back that up. This is b/c moisture IS going to get trapped between the clamp and pipe. A welded exhaust can be painted to prevent rust. I painted my last exhaust w/ high temp paint and it hasn't burnt off yet.
Regardless if this is a street setup the muffler is going to rust out before any of the pipes and require replacement, so either way you are going to be under that again in a few years.
