i've become a total carbotech whore, personally. I'm currently using them on every car I have.
I liked my Hawk HP+ pads when I got them on the supra, but they dust a lot and squeal like bitches. You can phase out the squealing, but when you wash the car I needed to grab a second shop-rag just for the initial cleaning of the wheels.
I had axxis ultimates for track pads on the 240 for a while, they were alright but also dusted a bit too, IIRC. Light squealing, but pretty good street pad, when I went to XP8s I really noticed the difference.
Linds went from an OEM pad on her Escort to Carbotech Panther+ pads and she loves them. Much better bite, no dust, no squeal, definite improvemen. I also use them for the Supra's street pad and really like them. I highly recommended if you won't see anything more than an autoX or some spirited driving.
