Bingo. Which is why when my dad's logging crews go out to chop down the forest they STILL have to erect those barriers when they get near steep grades. There isn't a river or creek around for MILES....they don't want the top soil washing away b/c if it does it makes it 10x harder to get new trees to grow when they replant.
