Man.. I love scanning the forums after being gone for a while.
Polarizing filters can have wonderful effects on cars, water, and sky.

HDR with serious saturation boost, but the light beams were in every shot and accentuated because of the polarizing filter. It does cut quite a bit of light so it as to be well lit to use (or use a tripod).
Nikon D50... with kit lens (Mike)... at 55mm zoom (Mike)...

Just to show saturation... otherwise a crap pic.
Most of the photos on my site are from a D50 and you can get an idea of saturation, contrast, clarity, and edge definition from most. Finally, I'll leave you all with this. It's straight out of the camera from a few days ago. It'll show what a d50 can do without a tripod, photoshop, or good light. It's in RAW.

I've definitely found the limitations of my D50 but I don't regret buying it one bit as a starter D-SLR... oh.. and it prints to 24x30 beautifully!
