nice call on the Mazdaspeed. in fact, if Thayer doesn't mind FWD, there are some used MS proteges out there. fairly rare but extremely well sorted cars that have lots of the popular/effective mods done from the factory. with a real back seat, frugal fuel economy and flypaper handling i would immediately spring for that as a DD/auto-x car.
